Located at Intersection of US Hwy 67 and State Hwy 144
In 1849 a trading post was established at what is now the current seat of Somervell County. Glen Rose is located on the beautiful Paluxy River just above the Brazos River. It is southeast of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and north of Meridian.
Glen Rose and the surrounding area has a lot to offer for those wanting to spend either a day or a week. There are activities that include camping which is available through several facilities with RV sites, tents, and cabins. Other outside activities available are fishing, canoeing, tubing, hiking and shopping. While the Expo Center features various events scheduled throughout the year. The younger family members will particularly enjoy all of the dinosaur venues in the area. (See Below) And enjoy the wonderful food available at many of the local restaurants.

Dinosaur Valley State Park - Located on Paluxy River which flows over some of the best preserved dinosaur tracks in Texas. Tracks include Sauropod,Duckbilled Dinosaur, Theropods. Fossil Rim Wildlife Center - A 2,700 acre center with some of the world's most endangered species roaming. Overnight facilities, petting pasture, cafe, picnic area, nature trails and learning center. Admission. Call for more info: 254-897-2960
Dinosaur World - A 22 acre park setting with more than 100 dinosaurs. Walking trail, museum, fossil dig for kids and picnic area. Admission. Call for more info: 254-898-1526
