Located off Interstate 45 (I-45) between Houston and Huntsville, Conroe is on the edge of Sam Houston National Forest with woodland lakes, hills and beautiful pines with a 127 mile hiking trail there. Lake Conroe has 8 public golf courses and just down the road (Texas 105) you'll find the quaint town of Montgomery full of historic buildings, homes and shops. Or spend the day shopping at the Conroe Outlet Mall.
