West of Houston and south of Austin, San Antonio is intersected by Interstates 10 and 35; State Highways 37, 281, 90 and 87. Best known for The Alamo there's plenty more to see and do while in San Antonio. The popular River Walk is one level below the downtown streets, edged by restaurants, gift shops, hotels, live music and cafes. While there, take a ride on one of the riverboat cruises.
Other points of interest include Alamodome, a botanical garden, the Zoo which is one of the best in the country, Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center, La Villita, Market Square, Military Bases - including Brooks Air Force Base, Fort Sam Houston, Fort Sam Houston Museum, Lackland Air Force Base, Randolph Air Force Base and US Army Medical Department Museum.
Natural Bridge Caverns has a 75 minute tour of one of the world's premier caverns, pan for gemstones at the Natural Bridge Mining Company and see the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch for a Texas-sized African safari.
